Would you consider yourself a generous person? People feel your concern for them in the provisions you’ve made for them – gifts of time, talent and financial treasure. In Scripture we see that when believers are so moved to be generous, their sacrifice rises like a sweet aroma that is pleasing to God.

He is pleased when we do good to others and help those who are far from him get to know him personally. In fact, God himself rejoices every time someone trusts him in the forgiveness of sin, receiving the gift of salvation. Do you know the joy of helping someone take that step of faith?

The Doing of Good

God absolutely loves us. It’s not our humanity that separates us from him, but rather our sin. God is solid, trustworthy, steadfast. Yet, his character as God also makes him a destroying force to all sin. The good news is that He has a plan to make his holiness and goodness present in humanity in such a way that sin will be consumed without damaging the people he loves in the process – how does he accomplish this? Through his Son, Jesus Christ.
