Develop a Biblical World view

November 8, 2023 • Pastor Spencer Fusselman

What is a worldview? It's the lens by which you see the entire world. People have differing viewpoints of what life and the world is. Some say YOLO, (you only live once) and strive to live for themselves and for worldly pleasures, others might live for financial gain. But Christians should be able to see the world through the lens of the Bible. When I think of a Biblical worldview, the verse that comes to mind most is Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” It’s the transforming of our minds through scripture that allows us to ‘see’ the world through God’s eyes rather than human eyes. Human eyes today only see through the lens of emotion, feeling, or hormones. There is very little critical thinking left in the world, which is why we must train ourselves, that is to discipline ourselves, to be STUDENTS of God’s Word. When a hard question comes up, rather than leaning on our own understanding we should FIRST consult scripture and ask ‘How does Scripture answer this question?’ From there we can allow scripture to inform our lives on everything between relationship issues and Current Events.  In this week's study, we are looking at current events in Israel and what Scripture says about the end times. Do these two topics connect or conflict? How can we train ourselves not to jump to conclusions and trust Scripture?
