The Bible teaches us that every life has value. No questions asked. We hear the words "life matters" thrown around a lot, but what do those words really mean? What does it mean to live a life that values life in a practical sense? How do we combat voices in our world that tell people that they are worthless or not worth keeping alive? What is the spirit of the enemy that tells people that their lives or the lives of others are not worth the effort. Dr. Mark Lantz dives into the Psalms, as well as other points in Scripture, to establish the Biblical basis for the value of life, as well as principles we all can adopt on how to live a life that shows that life truly does matter.

Detox -- Part 5
The Spirit of Offense • July 17, 2019 • Dr. Mark Lantz
There is a very real and very powerful spirit of offense at work in our world today. In a generation that seems to be actively looking for something by which they can be offended, we must be aware of the influence of this spirit on us even in the church. This spirit seeks to destroy relationships and impair the work of God not only in your own life, but in the collective body of Christ. This spirit can and will attach itself to various aspects of your life in order to keep you away from what God has planned for you. Join Dr. Mark Lantz as he examines the strategies of this spirit of offense, and what you can do to live a life that is un-offendable, in Part 5 of Detox.

We all have a tendency to judge the health of people by their outward appearance, but this is simply too short-sighted for reality. Despite outward appearance, there are people within the church who are completely bound by a spirit of depression and anxiety. These people are bent in two so that it is impossible for them to see the world around them and the beauty that God has given to them. In Luke 13, Jesus encountered a woman who was physically bent in half, unable to look up to see where she was going. This is the position these people find themselves in spiritually. But what we learn from this passage is that Jesus was able to heal this woman with just a word, as well as silence those who were more concerned about tradition than with the real person in front of them. Join Dr. Mark Lantz as he examines this passage in this sermon, entitled Look Up.

We all face trials and struggles. At any given moment, you're most likely facing some sort of opposition. But sometimes, those struggles seem like more than a day-to-day battle. Sometimes it feels like you're up against a wall that you cannot break through. You're stuck in one position, and it feels that you'll never be able to escape. These times come to us all, and God knows that. That's why He gives us some real encouragement and instruction in His Word for these times. Join Pastor Scott Phenis as he examines these difficult times in Break Through.
