Our nation has been hit with several waves of uncertainty, tension, and fear. From COVID-19 to the current racial tension, many are left wondering if the church, or even the country as a whole, will be able to recover and renew itself. We live in a culture crippled by doubt, fear, anger, and a lack of hope.

We are not done. The church is going to do more than simply come back. We are being reset, brought into a season of ministry unlike any we have seen before, and we must be ready for what is coming next. We come to this Pentecost Sunday after a time of shutdown and separation. We have been separated physically, but hopefully not spiritually. But now, as we resume our gatherings, what's next? Do we go back to business as usual? What changes do we have to make as the world around us goes into a change the likes of which we have never seen before? Jesus' ascension marked a time of change for the disciples. They were entering into a new era of ministry, as well as a new era in their lives as a whole. And it was the coming of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost Sunday that gave them the power and courage to walk into everything new that now faced them.
