The Gifts We Give

Christmas is the season of giving. The Wise Men brought gifts to the baby Jesus as an expression of their worship. The gifts we bring show the love and the devotion that we have to the God who has given us all good things. Just like the Wise Men we want to have generous hearts for the one who has been so generous to us.
The Opportunities We Miss

How often do we look back on our lives and recognize that we have missed the opportunity for something significant? When the wise men came to King Herod he had an opportunity. He could have gone with them to bring an offering and worship Jesus. If he had, his story would have been very different. Instead Herod is known as a ruthless king desperate to protect what he has at any cost. He leaves a legacy of missed opportunity.
