04-14-19 The Servant King

April 14, 2019 • Pastor George Gasperson

In spite of all the reasons why He could have and should have risen to earthly greatness, He had a different motivation. Jesus didn’t come to rule. He came to serve, and He called us to follow in His footsteps and do the same. Jesus didn’t just call his disciples together and give them an assignment. He showed them what being a servant looks like by modeling servanthood. This week we will look at four episodes in Jesus’ life during his last days when he modeled servanthood for his disciples.

04-07-19 The Vine and the Branches

April 7, 2019 • Pastor George Gasperson

Jesus’ time on earth was over. It was literally his last day to be with his disciples. They had just finished the Last Supper in the Upper Room, and they were walking toward the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus would be arrested in just a couple of hours. Soon, Jesus would be dead, and for the first time, the disciples would be left on their own. What would Jesus’ last lesson, his last words of wisdom be to them? That’s what we’ll read this morning.

March 24, 2019 • Pastor George Gasperson

What is your understanding of how we spend eternity? Will we lay around on clouds and play a harp? Will we stand in a choir loft and sing forever? Will everyone have the same experience? What if the small choices you make today while alive on earth-choices how you interact with your boss, or the things you do for other people-impacted your experience in heaven? That’s this week’s topic

03-17-19 I'm Coming Soon

Few topics generate the amount of confusion and debate as this topic, for a couple of reasons. First, when Jesus talked about his return, he didn’t give many details. Second, Jesus didn’t pinpoint a specific time in history when He would return. We’re left wondering what period of time He is referring to. And third, we get confused because there is not a firm consensus among Christian theologians as to what Jesus meant. It’s easy to study this topic and end up with more questions than answers.

03-10-19 You Have Heard It Said

March 10, 2019 • Pastor Chris Weatherly

You Have Heard It Said Matthew 5-6 The season of lent is a time of reflection and sacrifice where we look forward to the death and resurrection of King Jesus. During this time we will be studying 6 of Jesus key teachings and ideas. With each one you will notice that his teachings are both challenging and yet encouraging. They challenge us to leave our old life behind, and encourage us to live the Godly live we’ve been called to live. Scripture for Study: Matthew 5-6 Message Outline: Jesus teachings are challenging because they speak truth and convict us. He calls us to be radically different than the culture we find ourselves in by being light in a dark world. Sunday’s message focused on four teachings Jesus gave on the sermon on the mount. 1. Don’t Lust 2. Be Honest 3. Don’t let your anger control you 4. Reconcile with those you’ve wronged For this lent season I’m challenging you to reach out and pursue reconciliation if there are relationships in your life that are broken.
