What we learn in this passage is that it is a sad and sorrowful thing that there are people in this world who are enemies of the cross of Christ, and some Christians are in serious danger of drifting off with them – joining them in a lifestyle as dishonoring to God as it is futile and empty. This reality breaks Paul's heart. It reduces him to tears... it is out of those tears that he calls us to live a different - distinctive lifestyle.
