Easter Vigil

April 16, 2022
6:00 - 8:00pm

This service is the highlight of Holy Week, and contains services of light & lessons, the acclamation, baptisms & Eucharist. WHAT TO EXPECT: -The service begins in darkness, with the lighting of the Paschal candle. -The Exsultet is sung - this is a beautiful and ancient song describing the importance of this night for the Church. -Six different passages form the Old Testament are presented, recalling God's saving deeds throughout history. -The Easter Acclamation erupts - we rejoice at Christ's resurrection; light and beauty flood the darkness, and we make a joyful noise! -Baptisms mark this celebration of our new life in Jesus. -The first Eucharist of Easter concludes the service. The nursery will be open for the first bit (until communion.) We encourage older kids to participate in the service!
