In our Bible passage today, king Nebuchadnezzar’s son Evil-Merodach comes to the throne and one of his first acts is to release Jehoiachin from prison. What a powerful picture of grace! What Evil-Merodach did for Jehoiachin, Jesus did for us. This text is tailored to teach this timeless truth - grace gives us God’s best even when we are at our worst! Grace gives us benefits we wouldn’t have if God didn’t grace them to us. The psalmist was correct when he said, this is the day the Lord has made, and guess what we should do?
