Instead of a ‘Family Tree,’ it might be better to consider it a ‘Family Chain.’ We see ourselves as a link in that chain, connected to those who came before and those who will come after. Maybe it should be called a ‘Family Relay.’ A team of racer running a race, tied together by a common item: the baton. With such a picture, the question asks itself. ‘What was passed on to me that I will pass on to the next generation?’
