Why Aren't You Busy Serving Christ? -- 2 Thess 3:6-18

Paul concludes his communication with the congregation in Thessalonica by asking them why they aren't busy serving Christ. Some of them had embraced idleness and became drains on the congregation's life. They caused division by their constant unwelcomed involvement in the lives of their fellow Church members. Paul gives them a stern warning to get busy serving Christ.

Who Is Behind Lawlessness?

In the second sermon on 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, we answer the question, "Who is behind lawlessness?" The answer, of course, is the Devil, who is currently at work in our world. His work is a mystery to us, for we cannot understand why evil, wickedness, and lawlessness is in the world. It puzzles us. Paul also tells us that God, in His providence, ordered the world this way and will work all things out for His glory and our good, which will be seen when Christ returns and evil is destroyed.
