Forgiveness

June 27, 2021 • Steve Wilmert

Love and forgiveness are intimately intertwined. Jesus teaches that whoever has been forgiven little loves little. Forgiveness is relational, it is restorative. In a day that is more known for being divisive than forgiving, judgmental than forgiving, isolated than forgiving - how can we love out of the forgiveness we have in Jesus?

Leadership

June 20, 2021

It is vital that we develop intelligent and intentional plans for mentoring and apprenticing the next generation. The Apostle Paul poured his life into a young man named Timothy who was becoming the next generation leader in the early church. Where Timothy saw roadblocks, Paul encouraged him to be and lead from his identity in Jesus. How can we raise up the next generation of leaders in the church and in our community?

Cancel Culture

June 13, 2021

Simply put, the cancel culture refers to the practice of withdrawing support for those in the public after they say or do something considered offensive by a certain group. Each of us has said or done something at some point that deserves conversation or perhaps even confrontation. That is undeniable. But Jesus calls us to be people of the towel rather than people of the pitchfork. How can we be more known for what we are for than what we are against?

Grace and Truth

June 6, 2021

We need to be grace-people and truth-people -- not half-grace and half-truth. Grace people are pleasant to be around, but they never help us become who we should be. Truth people inspire us with their courage but turn us off with their intimidation. Jesus was all grace and all truth. How can we be people of grace and truth?
