The Gospel And Racism

July 25, 2021

The Bible teaches that all people are broken and sinful. One of the ways that our sinfulness reveals itself is through racism. We are living in a day and age where the sin of racism is highly charged, ever-present, and deeply embedded. But often, the Christian church has forgotten that the hope of overcoming racism is found in the Gospel message. How do we address the sinfulness of racism in both our personal lives and our culture through the lens of the Gospel?

The Gospel And Joy

July 18, 2021

God is working in our hearts love, confidence, and joy that is against the stream of secularism, godlessness, and worldliness in our society. Christianity is first and foremost a matter of the heart, not a matter of external performances. Peter teaches we are receiving the sanctification of our souls as we love Jesus, trust Jesus, and rejoice in Jesus. How do we live a joy-filled life out of the abundance of who we are in Jesus?

The Gospel And Suffering

July 11, 2021

What happens to you, when the unexpected, the unwanted, the unplanned, the hard, and the difficult enter your life? You can’t escape the reality that the Bible teaches that suffering is not a unique experience. Suffering is a battleground. How do we allow the cross of Jesus to radically transform how we experience suffering?

The Gospel And Patriotism

July 4, 2021 • Pastor Steve Wilmert

Today we celebrate the independence of this great nation we call home. Together we celebrate the freedoms that have been provided by the sacrifice of so many who have gone before us. And while this very much feels like our home, the Bible reminds us that we are actually foreigners and exiles in this land and that our citizenship is ultimately in heaven.
