Promised – verse 1 links Jesus as the fulfillment of:
* The Davidic Covenant of perpetual reign (2 Sam 7)
* The Abrahamic Covenant of a ‘chosen people’ (Gen 12-17)
* The Noahic Covenant of grace for all (Gen 8)
* The vowed crushing of the Serpent (Gen 3)
* The start of a new covenant (Jer 31, Eze 36, I Cor 15)
