Message Text: Psalm 103:1-5 (NIV)
Psalm 103 Of David.
1 Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

THE BENEFITS
1. Forgiveness (v.3a)
1 Corinthians 15:3
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

Mark 2:10
10 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man,

1 John 1:9
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

2. Healing (v.3b)
Isaiah 53:4-5
4 Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

Matthew 9:29-30
29 Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”; 30 and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one knows about this.”

3. Redemption (v.4)
Romans 8:35
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?,
Romans 8:37-39
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.9

WAYS THAT WE FORGET GOD
1. When we don’t spend time with Him
2. When we don’t put Him as our first priority
3. When we don’t put our trust in Him
