CityServe Day is a no-strings-attached, city-wide day of service where “all are welcome to serve and be served.” The motivation is simple – when a city prospers, so do its people. We will be joining thousands of volunteers as we serve schools, parks, local non-profit organizations, and neighborhoods, serving some of the most prominent needs in our city. //Work Project: We will be partnering with Mary's Home. Mary's Home exists to create a safe haven for women escaping cycles of poverty, abuse, and homelessness in our community. Project will be primarily outdoors and will include: landscaping, power-washing, deep cleaning Mary's Home vehicles, neighborhood trash pick-up, prepping walkway surface and placing weed barrier. -What to wear: Please wear comfortable work clothes that can get dirty & closed toed shoes. Please bring a mask and wear if requested by site. -What to bring: Work gloves, rakes, and garden tools are helpful. Please bring if you own. //Prayer Team: We will prayer walking in our city. Prayer is vital to transformation, and we believe that there is power as we pray and join with others praying across our city. Prayer will be from 9:00am-10:30am. We will be meeting at the church and then going into our neighborhoods to pray. //Citywide Worship: Join with believers the night before we serve all across our city: Friday, October 1 at 6:30-8:00pm. The Citywide Worship Gathering is a beautiful opportunity to worship as one Church, celebrating how God is continually transforming the city of Colorado Springs. This service is ecumenical, honoring a variety of Christian traditions. There will be elements of this gathering in both English and Spanish. All are welcome to come and worship! Worship will happen at First Pres (219 E Bijou St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903) and Discovery Church (4304 Austin Bluffs Pkwy, Colorado Springs, CO 80918).
