Courage is not the absence of fear but the willingness to act in spite of it. Paul’s courage is on display in this passage, not because he is courageous, but because Jesus is with him. In the same way we can be courageous knowing that God is with us as we share the gospel and even as we wait.

Jesus sends out his disciples to take this good news to the ends of the earth and we close the book we realize there is still so much left to do. Paul has made it to Rome, yet the call is to pick up the story and carry forward the good news of Jesus Christ to all the nations.
