The Bible uses several metaphors to describe the Church of Jesus Christ: the ‘body’, the ‘bride’; the ‘elect’. But the most misunderstood metaphor is the one most needed in today’s turbulent times: that the Church is a ‘colony of Heaven’ on earth.
