Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20 Earthly governments build embassies and appoint ambassadors to represent the homeland in foreign countries. In the same way, Christ builds His church on earth and appoints us as ambassadors who represent the Kingdom of Heaven. And no. We have not taken this seriously.
