Matthew 2:1-11 The Wise Men were astronomers, scientists and involved with medicine.. They followed the star to Jesus Christ. The star represents the Holy Spirit. The wise men brought gifts to Jesus Christ (1) Gold represents that Jesus Christ is God John 5:18 Do not worship men or angels - Rev 19:10 & Rev 22:8-9 - Worship the Lord only (2) Frankincense Was a white resin or gum substance that had a beautiful fragrance It represents Jesus being sinless - Hebrews 4:15 It represents us becoming more like Jesus (3) Myrrh Myrrh came from the sap of a tree from around the Middle East It had a bitter taste. Myrrh represents several things We can acquire bitterness because Jesus offends Myrrh was used as embalming fluid when someone died

Signs show us that - Matthew 16:1-4 Mockers in the last days - 2 Peter 3:1-4 No one knows when the Lord will return - Mark 13:32 Signs revealing we are in the last days 1. A spirit of deception 1 John 4:1-6 & Mark 13:21-23 2. Famines - v8 3. Earthquakes - v8 - an increase in earthquakes is taking place There will be one earthquake that takes place to announce the coming of the Lord - Zech 14:1-9 4. v9 - Hatred of the nation of Israel 5. vs10-13 - The Gospel will be Preached to all nations

Luke 2:4-16 Glory - is the weight of the Lord's presence (vs9,14) You can feel it, sense it and see its effects Here is a theological presence or glory This is knowing that God is Omniscient - everywhere at once The manifest presence of the Lord This is the presence of the Lord that brings fruit, can be felt and sensed Sealed with the Holy Spirit - Eph 4:30 - this is a down payment of the Holy Spirit received at salvation that we feel. It is a down payment of what we will receive in heaven. The heavenly presence of the Lord This is the complete and total fullness of the Lord's presence

Accept people just the way they are. This is what the Lord does Do not try to change anyone Love, accept and mentor them but leave them alone God brought them to save them and clean them up 2. Acceptance of people does not include the acceptance of sin
