1 Peter 4:7-11 v7 - THE END OF THE WORLD IS COMING SOON Since we know the end of the world is coming soon, what do we need to be doing??????? (1.) KEEP YOUR MIND STEADY, CLEAR AND CALM - v7 -50,000-60,000 thoughts come through our mind every day from the Lord, flesh and enemy. The enemy and flesh place alot of thoughts in our minds -two things we can do to battle those thoughts. 1. THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT 2. CHANGE YOUR THINKING TO ALIGN WITH THE WORD OF GOD -Pull down non-Biblical thoughts and replace them with Biblical thoughts -in context, Peter is talking about end time thoughts (2.) THE END OF THE WORLD IS COMING SOON AND WE MUST PRAY - v7 -if we are anxious or fearful then we will not pray -for our prayers to be answered there are 2 ways to pray 1. Pray the Word - Colssians 1:9-14 -the Word of God is the will of God 2. Pray in Tongues - Romans 8:26-28 -speaking in tongues does not save anyone. Only the blood of Jesus saves Jesus baptizes people in the Holy Spirit -there are many evidences of receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit (3.) LOVE EACH OTHER DEEPLY - v8 Above all things - means before everything else fervent - means intense, constant, http://deep...it is the picture of a horse at a fast gallop or a runner stretching toward the finish line THE WORD FERVENT SPEAKS OF ONE MAIN POINT....... Fervent Love Covers -this is a love that refuses to deliberately expose the sins of others -Genesis 9:18-28

Habakkuk Chapter One The book was written from 598-609BC Habakkuk was warning Israel that the Babylonians were coming to chastise Israel verse 1 oracle, burden, message The Lord spoke to Habakkuk directly and personally It means to take up and carry - Habakkuk would take up what the Lord gave him and give it to Israel 3 Things We Need To See From Verse 1 1. The Lord speaks and talks - v1 To the believer personally We are not led by fleeces or people 2. Receive what the Lord says You never know what He is going to tell you, but it is always for your benefit 3. Carry The Message Take the message to others OT prophets directed people NT prophets confirm what the Lord has already spoken to you Not much is known about "H" but his name means TO EMBRACE....... verse 2 - "H" had been crying out to the Lord, but was not seeing any changes "H" had some doubts concerning his prayers being heard and answered The Lord does hear and answer our prayers Ps 66:19-http://20...ps 138:3...Ps 116:1-2 Hindrances to answered prayer A HARD HEART - Jeremiah 18:12 Hard hearts dull a person;s ability to hear from the Lord or respond to Him The Lord touches people every time we pray Keep a soft heart PRAYERLESSNESS - James 4:2 Praying will change things The Lord is waiting for us to pray and call on Him We will only receive if we ask - Matthew 7:7-8 You can continually ask - Genesis 32:24-32 NOT PRAYING ACCORDING TO THE WILL OF GOD - 1 John 5:14-15 When we pray in agreement to the will of God we will receive what we ask for The Lord's will is found in two places - The Word of God - so pray the Word of God - Eph 1:15-19 and 3:14-19 The Lord's will is found when you speak in tongues - Romans 8:26-28 Jesus baptizes believers in the Holy Spirit - Matthew 3:1-11 Speaking in tongues and receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit does not save anyone. We are only saved through the blood of Jesus The same fruit and effects that happened in Acts 2 will also occur today Fire - v3 - purity, comfort, God enthusiasm Wind v2 - speaks of action and the moving of the Holy Spirit Great joy - v15 Immersed in the Spirit - v4 - filled Speaking in tongues - v3

1 Peter 4:7 The End of All Things is at Hand End- Means conclusion or termination It is the termination of the world as we know it The end of something means the beginning of something new No one knows when the return of the Lord will occur - Matthew 24:36-37 vs37-39 - reveals the patience of God to wait for people to be saved The culture just keeps living without much regard to the second coming of Jesus vs42-44 - Be http://alert...stay http://awake...don;t get caught off guard vs45-47 - fulfill your assignment v47 - you will be blessed and rewarded for your faithfulness All Things - this refers to everything being shaken - Haggai 2:1-9 v1 - we all need a Word from the Lord in these last days Vs 2,14 - Zerubbabel - represents the government Joshua - represents the spiritual leaders The Lord is going to shake everything. When are things going to be shaken? iin a little while - this means the shakings are imminent, close and right around the corner v7 - Why are things going to be shaken? To bring people to salvation The Desire of All The Nations - this is Jesus Christ What Will Happen - vs7-8 - God's glory and presence will increase v9 - the future glory of God will be greater than the present glory of God At Hand- means to draw near and is approaching It speaks of getting everything in position for a breakthrough to happen - Revelation 19:10-18 A Heavenly Breakthrough. How do we know the end of all things are near? Luke 21:10-12, 25-28 Mockers and Scoffers- 2 Peter 3:3 -it means to ridicule, make fun of and to doubt Signs in the sky - Luke 21:25 UFO talk Economic Inflation - Revelation 6:5-6 One whole day of pay will just purchase food for one person
The Lord Is Going To Judge The Nations

Joel 3 The Lord is going to judge the nations Joel 3:1-2 - Joel talks about the return of the Lord v2 - Israel is the Lord's inheritance They are special and precious to the Lord vs7-8 The Lord will bring Israel back to their land What happened to Israel will happen to Israels' enemies v9 - Proclaim - a declaration or announcement from the Lord This is the battle of Armageddon This also refers to the church today and things are being stirred against the body of Christ....... Persecution of Christians v10 - Plowshares - was used to break up the fields for planting pruning hooks - used to cut back the branches This refers to todays’ church. Everyone all in This also refers to the worlds’ economy - gearing up for war vs11-12 - the Lord is enticing the nations of the world to come against Israel and they will be judged v11- the angels of God join the battle - 2 Kings 19:35 v13 - this is the harvest of judgment upon the nations Isaiah 63:3-6 wickedness will increase v14 - Multitudes - this is the number of Israels' enemies that cannot be counted v15 - darkness covers the earth - Matthew 24:29-30 verses 16-21 - The People Of God Are Blessed v16 - zion - is heaven. The Lord roars out of heaven -a great earthquake happens - Zech 14:3-7 v17 - strangers - this speaks of unbelievers v18 - this is the millennial reign of Jesus Christ v19 - nations will be judged by the Lord v20 - Israel will always exist v21 - I will avenge the enemies of Israel, but will forgive Israel 3 Ways To Fight 1. vote for the best person possible - Prov 29:2 2. Pray for revival - 1 Chron 7:14 3. Be a Voice - Matthew 3
We Must Think the Same Way The Lord Thinks

First Peter 4:1-6 The Lord's mind must be our mind Our thoughts, attitude and thinking must be exactly like the Lords This happens by knowing the Word of God We must think the same way the Lord thinks about sin v1-6 We must become like Jesus who is our example - V1 Jesus never sinned one time - Heb 4:15 Jesus overcame sin in many ways and through the power of the Holy Spirit All believers can overcome sin We must change our mindset where we believe we can overcome The power of sin is not greater than the power of the Holy Spirit in us 1 John 4:4 The sins of the world are not more than you can handle - 1 Corinthians 10:13 You do not have to give in to sin because it is too much for you to handle
The Lord Stands Ready To Forgive

Joel 3 The Lord Stands Ready To Forgive The Jewish people would be restored back to Jesus - v1 their restoration takes place through forgiveness Not only does the Lord forgive us, but we need to forgive also Forgive statements We forgive because Jesus is our example to follow Luke 7:36-50 and 1 Peter 2:21 Jesus is our example, model and pattern to follow; to imitate Following Jesus as our example is a testimony The world is looking for different - 1 Peter 2:11-12 Forgiveness is not approval of what was done to you - John 8:1-12 The Lord does not approve of our sin if we sin, but still forgives us When someone sins against us and hurts us, forgive but that does not mean we approve of what was done to us Forgiveness is Obedience - Ephesians 4:32 and Col 3:12-13 Forgiving people is a decision, an action of the will Forgiving is not a feeling or an emotion Our feelings will catch up with our obedience Forgive quickly and develop a habit of forgiving Forgiving does not always mean Forgetting - Philippians 3:13-14 We can forgive and still remember
Jesus Christ Is Lord

First Peter Jesus Christ Is Lord (1) JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD IS THE GOD-MAN - 1 Peter 3:18-22 a. The Incarnation - God coming to earth in the form of man -Jesus is the God-Man 3 Points v18 - The Lord Jesus never sinned -the Just for the Unjust - Jesus, without sin, died for those who have sinned... The Lord Jesus eliminates reincarnation -Jesus died once saying everyone dies once Hebrews 9:27 The Lord Jesus leads us to God -Jesus Christ is the only way to get to heaven and know God (2) JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD WENT TO HELL - vs21b-22 -Jesus is above all authorities before Jesus rose He went to hell -preached - to make a proclamation and announcement -this was not an evangelistic call to get saved -if you have rejected Jesus as your Savior, there is no chance to be saved after you die -after we are saved, we must be water baptism........ 1 Peter 4:1 (3) THE LORD'S MIND MUST BE OUR MIND - 1 Peter 4:1-6 -we must have the same thoughts, way of thinking and resolve that Jesus had The thoughts of Jesus is that life includes suffering: -Jesus suffered and we will suffer the thoughts of Jesus is that we should not sin -Jesus never sinned one time and He is our example to follow
Restoration Through Forgiveness

RESTORATION THROUGH FORGIVENESS Joel 3:1-2 -The Jewish people will be restored back to the Lord through forgiveness -the Lord is bringing the Jewish people back to Israel - Isaiah 11:11-12 & Ez 20:33-34 -Israel will be saved when Jesus Christ returns - Zech 12:9-11a and 13:1 Relationship vs Fellowship Relationship -This begins at salvation -an act of sin does not break our relationship with Jesus -the power of sin is broken -we receive the Holy Spirit and every spiritual blessing in Christ Fellowship -this is our every day fellowship time with Jesus Christ -every time we sin we break our fellowship with Jesus. We still have our relationship with Him -we need forgiveness to remain in fellowship with Jesus
