This book was written by Jeremiah, after the destruction of Jerusalem. It is a weeping lament for this great loss. He uses this to try to turn the people remaining in the area to stop their resistance to the Lord. It is a solemn reminder of what happens when we refuse to follow God’s guiding laws.
