Yesterday we completed Lloyd’s look at the Lord’s letter to Smyrna, in Revelation chapter two. It was a letter of encouragement and praise. Today, as we begin a study of the letter to Pergamos, we see a very different tone to the Lord’s words. Pergamum had fallen into the hands of false teaching. The Lord’s response? Repent!

One of the greatest things about Jesus Christ’s earthly ministry was His ability to not only be God in human flesh, but to understand what it was like to be human. Pastor Lloyd reminds us today that Jesus was the only perfect person who ever has lived, but He understood the plight of common people. Of course, God planned it that way and we see in the life of Jesus a wonderful model for us to follow.

The essence of our relationship in Jesus Christ is faith. However, I think you’d agree that our faith can kind of wander and fade in and out. It’s not a new phenomenon at all.
