Session 4: No Fear!
October 8, 2023 • Pastor Josh Lawrence • 2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. - 2 Timothy 1:7 God has given us a spirit of boldness and a hope for life—not only for ourselves, but that we might share that with others! As Paul encouraged his spiritual son Timothy to take his eyes off of what God has not given to us, namely a spirit of fear, he simultaneously encouraged him to look to what God has given us! He has given us His power to walk in, along with His love and a self-controlled mind. As we walk humbly with the Lord, we can trust that He will embolden and strengthen us—that we might walk with NO FEAR! This is a good time to reflect on what it means to live in today’s age boldly for the Lord. It’s a time for heartfelt worship to our God and fellowship with other brothers in the faith, letting go of the daily demands that ordinally demand our attention. God is always faithful to meet you as you set that time aside to meet with Him. Our prayer going into this retreat is for all brothers to have that time to dive deeper into relationship with the Lord while creating meaningful and lasting relationships with each other.
