People become involved in ministry for a variety of reasons, and unfortunately, some of those reasons are impure. When that happens, the Church suffers the consequences. Paul did not seek money or fame by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He did so with a pure and loving heart. Unfortunately, we see the opposite is true in many pulpits today. Today we’ll jump right back into our new series in First Thessalonians. Paul had been imprisoned for preaching the Gospel in Philippi prior to coming to Thessalonica. Yet we read that it didn’t stop him from continuing to teach. Likewise, if God wants us to do something, He will give us the strength and courage to do it regardless of any obstacle or consequence that may be in our way. That’s our lesson today, as Lloyd takes us to First Thessalonians chapter two.
