Having come into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, there was a real peace in the lives of the believers there. They were on fire for the Lord and turned away from the old life. People become involved in ministry for a variety of reasons, and unfortunately, some of those reasons are impure. When that happens, the Church suffers the consequences. Today we’ll jump right back into our new series in First Thessalonians. Paul had been imprisoned for preaching the Gospel in Philippi prior to coming to Thessalonica. Yet we read that it didn’t stop him from continuing to teach. Likewise, if God wants us to do something, He will give us the strength and courage to do it regardless of any obstacle or consequence that may be in our way. That’s our lesson today, as Lloyd takes us to First Thessalonians chapter two.
