The Best of Bridging the Gap

Unity in Marriage

January 29, 2013 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley

The goal of every married couple should be to have the absolute best marriage they can have. God's word sets forth very specific roles for marriage, and we have got to really understand what He's saying in order to have a Godly marriage. That's what we'll do over the next two broadcasts - get to know our roles in marriage. Pastor Lloyd shared this message at a marriage conference at Calvary Chapel of Miami, and it's our pleasure to present it to you now.

Getting in the Groove

August 5, 2007 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Hebrews 12:12–17

Whenever you see an athlete performing at a very high level, they will often say they were "in a groove". Maybe you've felt that way yourself. You almost act on instinct without thinking about it, and things just flow. That's exactly how we should experience our relationship with Jesus Christ. We should get in a groove of submission and trust that allows us to walk with Him almost automatically. Our scripture text today is Hebrews twelve, verses twelve through seventeen.

Noah's Faith and Ours

April 22, 2007 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Hebrews 11:6–7

Today, we're continuing our verse by verse study of Hebrews Eleven, known as The Faith Chapter. When God calls you out of your comfort zone, what is your initial reaction? It's easy to say we have faith, but putting it into action is much easier said than done, isn't it? Let's go ahead and open our Bibles together now to Hebrews Eleven as we take a look at faith in action.

Virtuous Woman

May 14, 2006 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Proverbs 31:10–31

We can all agree that Motherhood is one of the greatest challenges a woman can take on. But we can also agree it brings great rewards as well. And talk about a job with influence. I dare say Moms have as much or more influence on society than any teacher or politician! Here's Pastor Lloyd in Proverbs chapter thirty one, with a message titled "The Virtuous Woman".

Beware of False Prophets

February 5, 2006 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Matthew 7:15

Worries of the World

November 13, 2005 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Matthew 6:25–34

The last section of Matthew chapter six contains wonderful words of comfort for those who are worried and anxious. There are many authors of so-called self help books who believe they have the answers to your problems with worry, but unless the source of their wisdom is the Bible, their advice rings hollow. Which would you rather rely on - the words of the latest pop-psychologist to come out of nowhere, or the Lord Jesus Christ?

The Truth About Forgiveness

October 23, 2005 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Matthew 6:14–15

The true purpose of prayer is to receive God's will when we ask according to His Will. So often we find ourselves trying to sway God towards our will which in turn limits God's working in our lives. On today's program, Lloyd will share some thoughts about one of the most important aspects of our Christian life - forgiveness. Join us if you can in Matthew chapter six, as we examine verses fourteen and fifteen.

Single Minded

August 17, 2005 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • 1 Corinthians 7:25–40

Are you a single person today? Single people generally fall into two categories: those who are single and content with it, and those who are single and would like to change that status! Is there anything wrong with staying single as a Christian? Not at all! That's one of the points Lloyd will drive home today and tomorrow as we look at singleness and the Christian - and being contented with where God has you! Our scripture reference is First Corinthians chapter seven, verses twenty five through forty.

Divorce

August 14, 2005 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Matthew 5:31–32

John Wooden was known as a great basketball coach. He won ten NCAA championships at UCLA. As great as his coaching record was, he was equally known as a man who truly loved his wife. He wrote his beloved Nellie a love letter every month after her death in 1985. That is a wonderful picture of love and attention to the marriage vow. But marriages like that are an endangered species.

Marriage Under Siege or is There a Loop Hole

August 10, 2005 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • 1 Corinthians 7:10–24

Today we tackle the topic of marriage. There is a disgustingly high divorce rate in this country. Certainly part of the problem has to be that we've made it so easy to get a divorce. With the right amount of cash, and a lawyer, anyone can get a divorce, and for no reason at all. Marriage in the United States and elsewhere is definitely under siege! What can we do to stem the tide of an out of control divorce rate? I think God just might have the answers! We'll be in First Corinthians chapter seven today.

Dealing with Sin in the Church

June 29, 2005 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • 1 Corinthians 5

He Made Them Male and Female

May 9, 2004 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Genesis 1:27

Exit polls from the recent presidential election show that values and morality were again very much on voters minds. These polls also show that a majority of people are against so-called "gay marriage", but the numbers of those opposed are falling. Why are these ungodly concepts being shoved down our throats? God certainly didn't intend the family unit to be anything but a man and a woman and their children. Pastor Lloyd will address that topic today and tomorrow as we continue a series of messages from the past five years called "The Best of BTG".
