Danger of Appearances - Part 1

August 31, 2016 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Matthew 7:24–27

We’re nearing the end of our study of the Sermon on the Mount. It ends with Christ’s comparison between the man who built his house on solid ground, and the man who built his house on sand. It’s a picture of how to build a solid life. If you’re wondering about the foundation of your faith, Lloyd’s message will provide some very timely answers about the proper building materials.

A False Sense of Security - Part 2

August 30, 2016 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Matthew 7:21–23

Imagine entering heaven, walking up to Jesus and having Him say, "I have no idea who you are!" That’s the scenario we’ll discuss today, as we look at Matthew seven, verses twenty one through twenty three. There are people today who think they’re saved Christians, but will be unknown to Jesus. Want to avoid that possibility for you?

A False Sense of Security - Part 1

August 29, 2016 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Matthew 7:21–23

Today we begin a message from Lloyd’s series on the Sermon on the Mount, titled "A False Sense of Security". Lloyd is speaking about the evidence that we as Christians are different from the non-Christian. One of the proofs of this difference is the way we talk - the words we use. But, it goes much further than mere words. We must act like Christians as well. How is a Christian supposed to act? Why are we held to such a high standard by the Lord?

Fruit Inspection - Part 2

August 26, 2016 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Matthew 7:16–20

Today, Lloyd will remind us that there are some very real evidences to be seen in the life of a Christian. Simply to say "I’m a Christian" is not enough. Our lives should reflect the changes that Jesus Christ has brought into us. Our scripture reference today is Matthew chapter seven, verses sixteen through twenty. The question must be asked: if you were put on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?

Fruit Inspection - Part 1

August 25, 2016 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Matthew 7:16–20

It’s one thing to say you are a believer in Jesus Christ, but does your life make your mouth a liar? Jesus taught on this subject in Matthew chapter seven, and the consequences of having a faith by mouth only, is terrible. Jesus said to those who profess to know him and really don’t, "depart from me, I never knew you." Surely that is not the situation any of us want to find ourselves in, so we’d better get our mouths and our souls on the same page.

Beware of False Prophets - Part 2

August 24, 2016 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Matthew 7:15

If you’re involved in a Christ-centered, bible believing Church, you may not think that you are susceptible to false teachers, but don’t be fooled. They are just as prevalent today as they were in Jesus’ day. Christ warns us that these false prophets are ravenous wolves in sheep’s clothing. That should serve as a wake-up call to every believer to learn to tell the difference from a true man of God and a ravenous Wolf. Today we’ll discover that to learn a man’s intent, you need look no further than his life, and the fruit he bears.

Beware of False Prophets - Part 1

August 23, 2016 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Matthew 7:15

We’re currently studying the latter verses of the Sermon on the Mount recorded in Matthew chapter seven. In verse fifteen, Jesus called false prophets ravenous wolves in sheep’s clothing. That’s a pretty stark description of those who would attempt to lead believers in Christ astray, but that is exactly what was going on back then - and it continues to go on today. In fact, there has never been a time when more false prophets have preyed on believers than today. We must beware. We must learn to discern.

Narrow Gate, Difficult Way - Part 2

August 22, 2016 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Matthew 7:13–14

Last time we began a two-part message from Matthew chapter seven, verses thirteen and fourteen. In these two verses from the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells us that the way to heaven is through a narrow gate, but the way to destruction is through a wide gate. Have you made the choice as to which gate you will go through? To enter the narrow gate first we must have a desire to actually enter. Secondly we must admit that without God, we are nothing, for we are poor in spirit.

Submitting to One Another in Love - Part 2

Narrow Gate, Difficult Way - Part 1

August 19, 2016 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Matthew 7:13–14

Today we learn about making a choice.... in fact the biggest choice we’ll ever make. This is a multiple-choice decision, but there are only two choices. There is no in between. Take the narrow gate to eternity with God, or take the wide gate to Hell. It’s really that simple. Today Lloyd Pulley will guide us through the choices Jesus gives us in Matthew seven, verses thirteen and fourteen.

The Golden Rule

August 18, 2016 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Matthew 7:12

On today’s broadcast we’ll be looking at one of the most familiar verses in the entire Bible - Matthew seven, verse twelve. The so-called "golden rule" is a model for all Christians to live by, and it’s very popular with other religions as well. But there’s a key difference in the way Jesus stated it, and the way the world recites it.

Ask, Seek, Knock - Part 2

August 17, 2016 • Pastor Lloyd Pulley • Matthew 7:7–11

We humans have a way of getting the whole concept of prayer turned around. If we use prayer as a way of reciting a shopping list of worldly desires, God will not be pleased. By the same token, if we make our requests known to God, and then sit around waiting for a delivery van to pull up, we’ve missed the meaning again. So how can prayer be reduced to it’s purest, most powerful form? That’s what we’ll discover today.
