James reveals to us the source of our frustration in our relationships as well as in our prayer life. The problem is that we are working from a worldly premise as "friends with the world." What we don't see is that this makes us enemies of God, and that is the foundational problem. The answer is found in God's grace as he "gives more grace" so that we might no longer be resisted by him, but submissive to him.
