Theme: Jesus as the greater Moses
Passage: Hebrews 3:1–6
Their work compared: The faithfulness of Jesus and Moses favorably compare (1–2).
Their position contrasted: The glory due Jesus far exceeds that due Moses (3–6a).
Our Response: Hold firmly onto Jesus (6b).
Main Idea: Because of Jesus’ faithfulness to accomplish his task and his position as God the Son, we must cling to him.

1. How is Jesus an apostle and high priest?
2. In what ways is Jesus like Moses? In what ways do they differ?
3. How does the author of Hebrews use the metaphor of a house to contrast the position of Moses and Jesus?
4. What is the significance of the condition (if we hold firmly …) stated at the end of verse 6?

One service this day at 10am. In his perfect plan of salvation, God made Jesus fully human like us for the following purposes: 1. Jesus would reverse the Fall. a. He defeats the devil. b. He delivers us from death. 2. Jesus would serve as our high priest to make atonement for our sins. 3. Jesus would help those suffering through testing. Main Point: Only Jesus can deliver us from death’s condemnation and life’s difficulties. Application Questions: • According to Hebrews 2:10–18, what are the reasons for Jesus becoming human? • Do you still fear death? How does this passage deliver us from this fear? • What attributes of Jesus do you see from this text? Since he became human like us, how can we emulate and pursue these same attributes? • What hope do you take from Hebrews 2:18? (Read tested for tempted)

Passage: Revelation 5 Theme: The Worthy Lamb • No other being in existence is worthy to unfold God’s plan of salvation. • He has conquered every foe to bring about God’s salvation. • He sacrificed himself to purchase a people for God. • He continually receives the worship due to God. Main Idea: You must come to understand that only Jesus proves worthy to unfold God’s plan of salvation.
