Jesus our Mediator between God and Man - Job cried out in his despair if only there was a mediator between God and man, who may lay his hand on both of us (Job 9:32-33). Job's cry, and man's cry, is answered in Jesus Christ who took the hand of man, and the hand of God, and made the way for sinful man to come into the presence of The Holy God. What a wonderful passage before us today as we study the Jesus who is the bridge of our salvation and eternal life.

The Church, the Pillar and Ground of Truth: In Ephesus where Paul is tell his young disciple Timothy to stay and teach the word, unashamed, and unchanged, was the Temple of Artemis which was considered one of the seven wonders of the world. Paul will word play off what the world thought was wondrous, and flip it to declare the greatest wonder is God and His Holy Word. Join us we see another wonder-full passage from the heart of God to us.

Family First: In chapter 3 we are told that the church of God is the pillar and ground of truth for the whole community (world too); in our passage here in chapter 5 we see that the Lord is giving a clear calling, that for the world to see the pillar and ground of truth, it has to first be applied within the church and family household first. Giving Honor to Those God has in Leadership: In our passage today we will see God’s calling on giving honor (respect) to those in authority at the Church, and the workplace. Regarding the latter, sometimes that is the hardest place to give respect and honor; but we will see today how God ties the very two together, and the power and freedom that comes when we give honor and respect to both.
