The danger for the Christian pilgrim is that we lose sight of the reality of heaven because of the mirage of this world.

We need the gospel to reorient our perception (1:21-26)
- Gospel living is counter-intuitive
- Gospel living is counter-cultural

We need the gospel to refocus our priorities (1:27-30)
- Gospel living is selfless
- Gospel living is courageous

"To live is Christ"
"Glory in Christ Jesus"
"Walk worthy of the gospel of Christ"
"Believe and suffer for the sake of Christ"
