New Year, New Hope

New Year, New Hope Promo

We’re all looking for something new; new life, new dreams, new possibilities. We crave renewed purpose and vitality. With the start of each new year, we begin again. We tell ourselves this year will be different, my marriage, my job, my finances, my friends, my health. But what if those things don’t change… worse yet, what if they do yet we still feel the same? Maybe what we’re really looking for, what we’re really craving is an anchor, an anchor for our souls. It turns out God has the very thing we’re all looking for!

As we continue our “New Year, New Hope” series, I’m wondering, have you ever dreamed an impossible dream for your life? That’s the kind of dream God wants you to dream! You know, God specializes in making the impossible…possible. I love the way Jesus responded when asked if He could do what seemed impossible: “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23 (NKJV) Maybe your seemingly impossible dream is a happy and whole family, physical healing, the return of a wayward loved one, a successful and fulfilling career, or (you fill in the blank). Guess what? God is ready to help us go beyond what seems “possible”. His ALL means ALL!

“I’m living the dream, my friend!” Have you ever heard someone say that and walked away thinking…”Wow! I wish I was living the dream.”? Well, what if you already are? One of my favorite movie lines is from the film, The Matrix. Morpheus is explaining to Neo that things are not as they seem, and he says to Neo, “It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.” I believe more of us are living the dream than we realize, but somehow we just can’t see it. The truth is, dreams come in all shapes and sizes. Some of the best dreams can be found in the seemingly small things. It’s just a matter of perspective.
