The Gift of Peace

Luke 2 • December 18, 2016 • Pastor Dave Dick

Peace is something we all hope for. Whether it be peace among nations or peace in our lives, we desire to live in peace. As we continue in Luke 2 this week, we will take a closer look at the peace that was promised by God and proclaimed by the angels that first Christmas. “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

The Birthplace of a Savior

Luke 2 • December 11, 2016 • Pastor Dave Dick

As much as some of us may complain or be concerned about the effects of technology on future generations, we can’t argue that we live in a time where communication is king. You can tweet it, text it, snap it, speak it, televise it, Facebook it, or Facetime it, just to name a few. The point is that it’s not hard to get the word out. As impressive as all of these forms of communication may be, they do not come close to the method used to proclaim the birth of the King of Kings. Join us this Sunday as we continue in Luke chapter 2 celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.

No Room for Christmas

Luke 2:1-20 • December 4, 2016 • Pastor Dave Dick

Most of us remember “A Charlie Brown Christmas” when in desperation, Charlie Brown finally asks if anybody really knows what Christmas is all about. Fortunately, Linus had an answer as he began to recite from Luke chapter 2. "And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not; for, behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and goodwill towards men.'" "...That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown." Indeed, that is what Christmas is all about.
