Thanksgiving is here! It is a great time to gather with family and friends and celebrate that fact that we are a blessed people. God is good! There are many family traditions at Thanksgiving, with one being the opportunity for each person to share why they are thankful. The message today centers around the Old Testament character, Joshua. You are going to be asked to imagine that Joshua is at your Thanksgiving table and you are going to hear what he is thankful for as recorded in Joshua 1:1-11. I know some may be thinking Thanksgiving didn't take place until about 395 years (or so) ago. Let me tell you, that Thanksgiving has always been a theme echoed again and again in the Scriptures. May you all enjoy a Blessed Thanksgiving Day!

This week we are going open God’s Word and examine what it means to be the church. When we pause long enough to look at the church we see many ministries designed for all ages, fellowship groups, service, missions, opportunities and celebrations, just to mention a few. But the questions are, where do you see yourself in the church? Do you feel connected? Do you believe you have something to offer? Do you feel blessed to be a part of the fellowship? God’s Word reminds us of the significant place we all have in the church. I trust the message will be an encouragement and a challenge as the Holy Spirit speaks to each one of our hearts.
Dealing with Our Pain
June 22, 2014 • Pastor Pete Van Dyke
Pain is seldom our welcomed friend, but it seems to come upon every single one of us at some point in our lives. So the issue is not whether or not we can avoid it. You and I simply cannot. The issue is, how will we respond to it when it arrives in our lives. This week we will be looking at the Scriptures to some very special promises God offers to us and how God walks with us through painful times. We will also consider how God desires to use each one of us and His church to minister to those who are experiencing pain.
Father's Day 2014 (Sanctuary)
A Man of God • June 15, 2014 • Dave Dick
Being a dad today comes with much more scrutiny then it did 50 or 60 years ago. Fatherhood is being redefined, expectations have grown, and failures are being proclaimed with regularity. On the other hand, some are challenging the very need for a father in the home at all. It can be a confusing time for dads. Join us Sunday as we find encouragement from God's Word for the importance of fatherhood.
Father's Day 2014 (Threshold)
God is a Consuming Fire (Happy Father's Day) • June 15, 2014 • Pastor Thor Ramsey
When it comes to parenting, the Bible gives scant practical advice but when it does speak directly to parenting, it speaks to fathers who in times past were seen as the primary parent in the home. We are now in a day when dads are seen as the supplemental parental support in the home. This Sunday in Threshold, we begin with the two New Testament parental passages concerning fathers and their children and with that, springboard into a focus on how we can be gospel fathers. Our God is a Consuming Fire (Happy Father’s Day).
Mother's Day 2014
Celebrating Women (HOW JESUS REVOLUTIONIZED SOCIETY’S VIEW OF WOMEN) • May 11, 2014 • Pastor Thor Ramsey
When we think of the influence of Jesus upon culture, we really take a lot for granted. Schools, hospitals, the emancipation of slaves were all spearheaded by followers of Jesus. But one of the things that we are often oblivious to is how Jesus changed society’s view of women. So, being that it’s Mother’s Day, we are not only going to honor mothers, but we’re going to celebrate womanhood by looking at how Jesus's treatment of women laid a foundation for all the freedoms that women in our culture enjoy today. There are far too many examples to use than we have time for, but this Sunday we’re going to look at five women with five different reputations. Celebrating Women, this Sunday in Threshold.
