Before Timothy reported on his hurried return to the church at Thessalonica, the Apostle Paul was very concerned about the new converts there. He had been with them for only three or four weeks, many converted, but then he was compelled to leave town. He is concerned about their faith persisting. He is concerned that the impact of religious persecution and Satanic temptation might collapse their faith. Timothy's report brings Paul great joy; their faith and love has persisted and developed!

We have enjoyed learning about the hope filled church as Paul shares his thankfulness for the gospel ministry of this young church standing up for the gospel amidst great persecution. This Sunday we will cover 2 Thessalonians 3. Paul one last time is challenging us to be faithful to the work God is doing within us and outside of us. Join us as we continue to learn how to be faithful disciples and a hope filled church.

Part 9 Comfort In Persecution

Paul begins his second letter to the Thessalonians with some words of commendation and then some information that comforts these people who are being persecuted because of their faith in Jesus Christ. The commendation is because their faith and their love for one another is deepening and increasing. The comfort Paul want them to feel is found in their future, when Jesus comes again with his fiery angels.
