The dictionary defines refuge as a shelter or protection from danger or distress. Whenever we feel threatened, we look for refuge. Sometimes it's a person, or maybe a government official or even a structure. As believers, our primary shelter is Christ; he can use those others to protect us, but he is our http://refuge.the Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. It's been said, "There are no half-hearted champions." Michael Jordan said, "I have always believed, if you put in the work, the results will come." Are you putting in the effort to know Christ? When it comes to knowing Christ, no half-hearted effort will do. He warns us, "So, because you are lukewarm (half-hearted), and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth." (Revelation 3:16) My prayer for you is that you're hot with the love for Christ! - Pastor Ken

History is filled with surprise attacks such as Pearl Harbor and the Six-Day War. Many Christians act as though the spiritual war we are engaged in is some kind of surprise attack. Peter said, "Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you." (1 Peter 4:12). God equips us to stand in all the battles we encounter - so, stand! (See Ephesians 6:10-18) Stand in Christ and experience the victory in his name. - Pastor Ken
