Verse 18 says: Once when Jesus was praying in
private and his disciples were with
him, he asked them, "Who do the
crowds say I am?" Our story today opens
the way many of our days should—in
prayer. Jesus is not taking a public opinion
poll here, nor is He insecure and wondering
what people think about Him. He is asking this
question with a purpose in mind—He wants His
disciples to be sure of His true identity because
they have to know when He asks them to pick
up their crosses for Him."

"Please hear this--too many of us are afraid of believing that God wants to do great things for us/in us/through us! Too many of us look at our circumstances and conclude that God is not working/won't work in/through us. Too many of us are sad, depressed Christians missing out on God's best for us! Everything God has for us must be/can only be received by faith! By believing God!"
