"This parable is spoken directly in response to Zacchaeus' conversion and the discussion going on amongst the crowd. Because of the healing of Bartimaeus
and his friend, the crowd would be even more convinced that Jesus was going to Jerusalem to take control of His kingdom. The necessity of the cross had not yet become evident. Thus, Jesus tells them this parable. This parable, then, is unusual in that its purpose, not its meaning, is given beforehand."

"Please hear this--too many of us are afraid of believing that God wants to do great things for us/in us/through us! Too many of us look at our circumstances and conclude that God is not working/won't work in/through us. Too many of us are sad, depressed Christians missing out on God's best for us! Everything God has for us must be/can only be received by faith! By believing God!"
