"Chapter 43 detailed God's judgment against those who fall into Idolatry. He still has plans to redeem His upright ones. Once again here in chapter 44, we have God establishing His Lordship over the people. I spoke at length last time about God creating us and redeeming us. The point here is that God is within His rights to demand our allegiance to Him—and only to Him. Here is the promise for those who get the message.."

"As we will see, Isaiah was very, very bold. His status as a prophet seems to be beyond all the others. He comports himself with dignity, with love, with passion, and, has the gift of direct. I must also share that modern scholarship (higher criticism; liberal) maintains that Isaiah is a patchwork of writing from many contributors. He calls us to a family meeting and He sits us down and asks us to open our minds/hearts for a reasonable discussion. When we refuse to be reasonable with God, the pain in our lives grows beyond our ability to bear..."
