"Israel is complaining that God doesn’t love them anymore. ‘If God loved us, would we be in this mess?’ They are blaming all their troubles on God not being faithful while God is saying just the opposite is true. ‘I have been faithful. Did I divorce you? Show me the proof—the certificate. You can’t show me because I never divorced you—your problems are self-inflicted because of sin!’ That means that all their problems were caused by rebellion. They divorced God, not the other way around.."

"As we will see, Isaiah was very, very bold. His status as a prophet seems to be beyond all the others. He comports himself with dignity, with love, with passion, and, has the gift of direct. I must also share that modern scholarship (higher criticism; liberal) maintains that Isaiah is a patchwork of writing from many contributors.
