Proverbs 22:6

When you’re expecting your first child there are two books that people recommend: “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” and “I’ll Love You Forever.” Both are great but the “forever” of “I’ll Love you Forever” is a lifetime. We need to think about forever as an eternal perspective, and prepare our kids for forever. Thus the Bible is the best book on parenting. I’m now a parent with two adult sons. I’m grateful to God for them, and to my wife Karen who has been an amazing mom to our sons. There are no perfect kids, there are no perfect parents, and there are no perfect people. Yet we have a perfect Savior. Our primary job is to equip them to know Him, submit their lives to Him, and to follow Him as mature adults. As a follower of Jesus, parent, and pastor, I’ve discovered some essentials for Christian parenting. Would you like to know them?
