As we contemplate this day, we can call it “Good Friday” because it is the day we commemorate Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. It is “good” not because of the suffering that our Savior endured, but because of what it accomplished. Jesus gave His life so that we can live.

In the midst of a health and economic pandemic, our sense of hope can be challenged. Nevertheless, Jesus’ followers have the greatest reason to be full of hope. Since Jesus rose, we have a confident hope, even as we experience all the struggles of COVID-19. Let’s consider Jesus’ resurrection, our living hope, and experience a living hope together.
