Living Hope in a Hostile World
Lion on the Loose
June 13, 2021 • Dr. Nicholas Leadbeater • 1 Peter 5:8–9, 2 Corinthians 12:8–10
As we close out our series going through 1 Peter, we start with a warning and end with some encouragement. Peter warns us that we have an enemy, the devil, that prowls like a lion and wants to devour us. By understanding the lion's identity and strategy, we can defend ourselves against attack. Then, as Peter ends his letter, he reminds us of God's character, calling, and commitment. We can be encouraged in the knowledge that God is a God of grace and he has an eternal plan for us. Even though we go through suffering, persecution, and trials, we can rest in the finished work of Christ.
