The Whittenberger Planetarium

December 6, 2024
10:30am - 1:00pm

Join us for a field trip to remember! The Whittenberger Planetarium has been serving primarily as a public outreach facility since 1970. Their projector sits under a 24-foot dome to show northern and limited southern constellations, all planets visible to the unaided eye, the sun, the moon, a few deep space objects, and both nightly and annual motions of all the above. Two Field Trip shows available: 10:30–11:30am - Tour of the Solar System (2nd grade & up) and 12–1pm - Seasonal Skies: Circumpolar Motion (4th grade & up). Cost is $5/per person **Due to the nature of the show, once seated inside the Planetarium, no one will be allowed to get up for the duration of the 1-hour show (i.e. room will be very dark). The Planetarium strongly discourages bringing children younger than 5 years old.**

The Orma J. Smith Museum of Natural History will also be open for self-guided tours anytime between the hours of 10am-3pm
