Ananias and Sapphira thought that they would lie to the Holy Spirit. They were never required to give anything, but when they decided to sell their land and give the rest to the church, they kept some back for themselves and then lied about it. When we do things to "act" like we are spiritual, we only fool ourselves.
Unifidelity

The contrast between communism and Koinonia is important when reading through this portion of scripture referring to the early church. Communism says, "What's yours is mine and we will take it." Koinonia says, "What's mine is yours and I will share it."
Speak the Word
September 22, 2024 • Pastor Don Roach • Acts 4:15–31, Colossians 3:12–14, Psalm 2:1–3
When we are continually being filled by the Holy Spirit, we will be emboldened to speak His Word without apology. Should we obey man or God when it comes to speaking His Word? Pray to "be ye, being filled".

Should Christians be content with the status quo? How can we be salt and light, if there is no change in our lives after conversion?

Not too long ago, Peter was denying Christ. Now He is preaching Him to those who betrayed him, including himself. We will be faced with the decision to obey man or God. Which will you choose?

When we realize that we can do nothing without God, we will step out more in faith to share His Gospel. We don't have to fear that we will not know what to say or what to do, if we rely on Him and His Holy Spirit. This will also help us to avoid becoming puffed up in our flesh. He is calling! Will you answer?

The Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 12:1 said, "Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant." Clearly the church has not taken this warning very seriously, as the exercising of the gifts are often out of step with the Word of God. Tune in as Pastor Don takes us through these scriptures to clear up any misunderstandings.
Fulfilled/Filled Full

The issue of the gifts of the Holy Spirit seems to be a sticky subject. It need not be. The Bible is very clear on this subject. The problem is we usually see it through the lens of our denomination instead of the simple and clear teaching of the Word of God itself.
Re-Choice
August 11, 2024 • Pastor Don Roach • Acts 1:12–26
After Judas betrayed Jesus, Peter felt it was time to appoint a new Apostle. The way in which they went about it would seem to be a little strange until you understand it all in context and not anachronistically. There have been many discussions on whether or not this was the will of God. One day, we will know for sure.

Introduction to The Acts of the Apostles
July 28, 2024 • Pastor Don Roach • Acts 1:1–3
The Acts of the Apostles was written by Luke, who also wrote the Gospel of Luke. He was a doctor but left his profession to follow Christ, so he is keen on details. He walked with and learned from the Apostle Paul. Most believe that he never met Jesus in person. He became a follower of Jesus after the Lord's death. Acts is the fifth book of the New Testament and tells of the founding of the Christian church and the spread of the Gospel to the Roman Empire. It begins where the gospels left off, with the Ascension of Jesus Christ. Join us on this journey, as it is sure to help you in your understanding of the scriptures as a whole.
