Pastor Jerry Savard was the Associate Pastor at CCL for more than a decade, where he had a great impact on all those he met. Jerry had a deep passion for people and always listened to their needs. He lovingly cared for and ministered to so many people. Jerry loved his family, the church, worship music, surfing, and fishing. He led the couples ministry, youth group and young adult ministries, as well as filling in for Pastor Mark. Jerry went home to be with His Lord and Savior in 2007.
The Author and the Finisher of Your Faith! A.) What does this statement mean & how should you apply this truth to your life? 1. First, the word “author” = means God is the originator & initiator of your faith. How??? a. You wouldn’t be a believer today, if He had not initiated loving & pursing you. 1 John 4:19 Jer. 31:3 Rom. 10:14-15 b. You wouldn’t be a believer today, if He had not first revealed Himself to you. John 6:44 Eph. 1:7-9 c. You wouldn’t be a believer today, if He hadn’t given you the ability to believe. Rom. 12:3 2 Thess. 3:2 John 3:19-20 Mark 1:15 John 5:40 Rom. 10:17 1 Cor. 12:9 2. The word “finisher” = means God perfects & completes your faith. How??? a. He perfects your faith by teaching you in the Word. Phil. 1:6 Rom. 10:17 b. He perfects you through testing your faith. James 1:2-5 1 Peter 5:6-10 c. He perfects you through obedience to His Word. Heb. 11:8 Heb. 11:23-26 d. He perfects your faith as you choose to come to Him in prayer. Jude 1:20 e.
