Though at times neglected by the church, recently the book of Zechariah has been getting more attention. Many are rediscovering its rich theological contribution to the whole counsel of God, as well as its importance in understanding key parts of the New Testament such as the passion of Christ and the book of Revelation. This prophecy of Zechariah promises better days ahead for Israel. In this promise is the return of Jehovah, the righteousness of Jehovah and the rule of Jehovah. When Jesus Christ (the Jehovah of the Old Testament is the Jesus of the New Testament) reigns things will be improved immensely.
