"I Wish We'd All Been Ready." - Matthew 24:36-39,44

Jesus gave this incredible warning:

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."

(Matthew 24:36-39,44).

If you received "insider information" from Jesus that He was coming back to earth tomorrow or that you were going to die tomorrow, would it change your priorities for today? I imagine that it would. Obviously no one has such knowledge. It could be many years before the inevitable comes, but it also COULD be tomorrow. Would you be ready? Are you sure? How about those you love? Would they be ready? 2 Peter 3:9 tells us that God is patient, not wanting ANY to perish, but one day God's patience will end. And, as the popular Christian song of the early 70's lamented, "I Wished We'd All Been Ready." Come Sunday and learn from God's Word how we can all be ready no matter what day the Lord should come.
