Troubles, Trials and Triumph

May 15, 2022 • Steve Austin • 2 Corinthians 1:2–11

The Bible gives this incredible promise:

God causes ALL things to work together for good to those who love God…” (Romans 8:28).

It would seem, however, that the news reports about Christians around the world being physically attacked, in some cases even brutally murdered, would challenge that promise. But even closer to home, the prayer requests that are emailed almost daily inform us that many in our church family are experiencing extremely difficult challenges, troubles and trials that could tempt any one of us to doubt God’s love, power and goodness.

The Bible clearly teaches that God doesn’t cause the difficulties that can come into our lives. Sin and Satan do. God does promise to comfort us during the afflictions in our life. But let’s face it;

God COULD stop them IF He wanted to. But He doesn’t! Why? Well, God answers that question in the passage we will study at this Sunday’s services, 2 Corinthians 1:2-11, where we will also learn how to turn our troubles and trials into triumph!
